Packing Nightmare

Packing for abroad should be easy right... negative ghost riders.

Copenhagen is pretty similar to Minnesota with its temperatures and amount of snow, or lack there of. Since it rarely dips below 32 degrees the snow turns to rain. Problem easily solved with a rain jacket and my hunter boots of course. Now what happens when I travel to somewhere warmer and a lot less wet. Now I need shorts and sandals. Screw 4 months worth of packing, I have to pack expecting a full years worth of weather. How does the airline expect me to fit this all into ONE bag. I have a shopping problem as it is so this shall be verrrrrrry interesting. I guess all it really means is I need to invest in Space bags, thank god I am over 18 so I can order from the informercials. Might invest in some pajama jeans while im at it, they look supa comfy!

Im also looking forward to the several trips I will be making to Mall of America. I can only hope I make it out without getting a chair thrown at me or shot ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1hG5jAbDDM ) People go krazy for those good deals. Worse comes to worse I will just have to buy a ton of things in Copenhagen. First World Pains, I know.

The only thing making this a little easier is the secret stash of wine stashed in my basement, how long do you think 2 cases will last me??

26 Days Till Takeoff

First off Merry Christmas to Everyone!
It has been a great day of relaxing and opening presents with the family. This Christmas has been highly centralized toward my nearing departure to the fabulous land of Denmark. For christmas I received a new suitcase from Joren (Joe & Lauren) that is very STEE! (Stee, a made up word by Joren, means Nasty or Sick....in a good way.) I also received THE comfiest LuLu Lemon leggings along with a lot of money, which I estimate will last me a couple days with the going rate for food and drinks in Copenhagen. $10 for a beer, thats crazy!!

All this relaxing and laying around has encouraged me to start this blog. With this blog I intend to keep my family and friends updated along with anyone else who wants to know where in the world Chels has been. I apologize in advance.

26 days till departure may seem like a long time away, but it will be here before I know it. Currently I am without a Visa, which may make things a little tricky upon arrival, so lets cross our fingers that one makes its way to my mailbox VERY SOON. In the next 26 days I have way to much to do and not enough time to do it. In the next week I will find myself flying from Minneapolis to Los Angeles, Los Angeles to San Francisco, and finally San Francisco to Minneapolis. Although this is a lot of traveling I cannot complain because I am privileged enough to be able to do this. I will be flying out to L.A. to attend the Rose Bowl with my best friends for one of the most unforgettable New Years Eves and three days of our lives. We like to refer to it as the last G.N.O (Girls Night Out, reference Miley Cyrus on that one) before we all go abroad. After my time in L.A. I will be visiting my Dad in San Francisco for a short 48 hours. I am hoping to turn this trip into an Anthony Bourdain "Layover" type trip, fitting in as many amazing sites and restaurants as possible! Once I land back in Minnesota it will be go go go, fitting in the last appointments and numerous shopping trips to prepare myself for the next 5 months.

So much to worry about, but its Christmas, so I will push it aside for one more day to enjoy the much needed relaxation and family bonding (bickering). Off to becoming Chels ;)

Cheers from Chels!
